1 Step at a Time Charity Walk

We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, the 2016 1 Step at a Time Charity Walk has been cancelled; however, we plan to revisit hosting it again in 2017. We sincerely thank everyone who has made a contribution to our cause and would like you to know that the money raised thus far will go directly to sending children with special needs to Camp Trusted Parents this summer. While the walk is not taking place, we are still raising funds for campers and encourage interested individuals to make donations at www.crowdrise.com/1StepataTime. We thank you for your continued support to Trusted Parents and hope that you will continue to support us in our future endeavors

Sincerely, Nikia Bye CEO

About the Walk

The "1 Step at a Time Charity Walk" will be held on Saturday, May 28th from 9am-12pm, in the Residential Quad of Queens University of Charlotte (1900 Selwyn Ave, Charlotte, NC 28274. This will be the first charity walk hosted by Trusted Parents, and you won't want to miss it!

The "1 Step at a Time Charity Walk" is a one-mile walk which requires no special training, just the desire to help out a great cause. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in order to send underprivileged children with special needs and their siblings to Camp Trusted Parents this summer. Additionally, we will use the funds to support our current programs, and to create and sustain new and vital resources in the community.

Individuals with special needs and families are counting on you for your support... Register or Donate today, and share the information about this walk with your family, friends, and coworkers to start your fundraising efforts and make a difference in the lives of these families in the community.

Why Help Now?

Every summer there are hundreds of families in the Charlotte area struggling to find affordable and reliable care options for their special needs children while school is out. Because there are so few programs that cater to special needs children, the search often ends fruitless. Parents are forced to miss work or set up last minute arrangements with caregivers just so their child can have some type of supervision. Camp Trusted Parents allows children with and without disabilities the opportunity to interact with each other in a fun, safe, therapeutic, and cost effective environment.

Help us make a difference in the community, "1 Step at a Time"
